Letter to the Owners/Members of the Ravine Club
I am encouraging all of you to attend the general membership meeting scheduled for August 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the pavilion. You may recall the water temperature last year, which was the result of constantly filling the pool from the well because of the leak. That leak has been repaired, but this year a new leak appeared. Some creative pool management has allowed us to minimize the need to have a hose constantly filling the pool. However, this is only a very temporary solution. You will see the temporary safety fence for the remainder of the season. Work to correct what we found so far would be disruptive and make the season less enjoyable. We hoped to correct the problem quickly but our pool service contractor has indicated further excavation is necessary. This work will take place after the season.
The pool leaks are only one of the fiscal challenges we face.
There have been other safety and aesthetic issues that we have begun to address. So far, we have installed or upgraded some of the fencing, purchased a new sign, and have removed the groundhog from under the shed. (Don’t worry the critter is safe and happy and still nearby). We also completed some repairs so that the deck is available this season. We also have some proposals to replace the deck and repair the pump house. I hope to have these on display at the meeting and hear your thoughts.
The lawsuit settlement money is not endless and we need to make some tough decisions about future improvements.
The executive board needs to hear from you since we are all in this together and your input will help determine the future look of the pool.
So please come and hear what we have to say and bring your concerns, comments, criticisms and compliments. Remember the executive board terms are one year and three trustees position terms expire this year.
